Moore Construction

Client: Moore Construction

Sector: Civil Construction / Structural Concrete / Infrastructure

Location: Christchurch & Queenstown, New Zealand

Film Type: Brand Story + Project Showcase

Your Role: Director / Cinematographer / Editor

Overview

Moore Construction is a specialist civil and concrete team known for delivering high-precision piling, bridge foundations, structural concrete and complex earthworks across Canterbury and the Southern Lakes. They’re the crew that gets called when a job needs to be done right — deep foundations, technically difficult ground conditions, remote sites and infrastructure that has to last.

I was asked to create two film projects for Moore Construction:

  1. A bridge installation story in Queenstown — capturing one of their signature infrastructure builds.

  2. A brand-story film for their new Queenstown office — showcasing the team, their projects, and their capability across the region.

These projects highlight the scale, craftsmanship and professionalism that define the Moore Construction ethos.

The Approach

1. Bridge Build – Queenstown

For the bridge project, I spent multiple days on-site capturing:

  • The piling process

  • Rebar, formwork and structural prep

  • Crane lifts

  • Bridge placement

  • The crew working in tight, technical conditions

  • The scale of the river and surrounding natural environment

Filming included:

  • Aerial coverage to show the engineering context

  • On-ground action shots of the install

  • Timelapse of the bridge placement

  • Close-up detail work to show craftsmanship

  • Candid crew moments to bring personality into the story

The goal was to give Moore a flagship infrastructure showcase they could use for tenders, client acquisition, and capability statements.

2. Queenstown Office Film

For the brand-story film, we captured:

  • Interviews with Reece and key team members

  • B-roll at three project sites across Queenstown

  • Crew working on high-end residential, commercial foundations and concrete pours

  • Scenic location context — alpine landscapes, lakeside builds, and hillside sites

  • Clean office sequences to introduce the new Queenstown base

The visual goal was clean, honest, rugged-but-professional construction filmmaking that reflected the region they operate in

Planning something similar? Let’s talk.

If your construction or civil team needs capability storytelling, project documentation or branded film assets, I can handle full production — from planning and shooting to editing and delivery.

The Outcome

The combined footage formed:

  • A full brand-story film to support the launch of the Queenstown division

  • A standalone project film demonstrating major infrastructure capability

  • A library of high-quality B-roll for future marketing

  • Social cutdowns and short edits for internal and client communications

These films have helped Moore Construction:

  • Showcase their technical skill

  • Communicate their scale and professionalism

  • Support tenders and council applications

  • Build trust with clients in both Christchurch and the Southern Lakes

The bridge film in particular has become a hero piece for demonstrating their ability to execute complex, high-precision engineering in remote environments.

Delivered Assets

  • Queenstown office brand-story film

  • Interviews with leadership
