Client & Project Meta
Client: Christchurch Residential Care (CRC)
Sector: Disability Support & Community Living
Location: Christchurch, New Zealand
Film Type: Brand story / human-impact film
Overview
CRC provides residential services and supported independent living for adults and youth with intellectual disabilities, emphasising dignity, community, and independence. crcltd.co.nz+1
I was invited by creative agency Attraction Studio to produce a film that would bring CRC’s mission to life — capturing real stories of residents and their carers, showing the strength of community, and spotlighting hope, connection and support.
The Approach
Filming was conducted in and around CRC homes and community settings in Christchurch — on location with residents, carers, and support teams.
We adopted a documentary-style approach:
Observational interviews with residents and support staff
Candid, unposed moments of daily life (meals, shared activities, meaningful connections)
Warm, intimate lighting to emphasise humanity and trust
Mixed shot types: close-ups, medium interactions, environmental wide shots to show “home” and community
In collaboration with Attraction Studio’s brand direction and CRC’s internal team, we ensured the story was respectful, authentic and deeply human.
Delivered Assets
Brand story film (approx 2–3 minutes)
30- and 60-second cut-downs for social and digital platforms
Interview footage and supporting B-roll
Still photography for print and web
