All hours All In TVC

Client: Attraction Studio
Sector: Television Commercial
Location: Nationwide, HQ, Invercargill
Film Type: TVC / Aerial / Heavy machinery

Overview: All hours All In

Allied Petroleum’s “All Hours. All In.” campaign celebrates the people and operations that keep New Zealand moving — day and night, in every region, in all conditions.
I was brought on to handle all filming and all editing for the national campaign, working closely with Attraction Studio to craft the visual identity and pace of the final TVC and supporting assets.

The project required an intensive six-day shoot across three major regions — two days in Christchurch, two in Invercargill and two in the Auckland region — capturing real workers, real locations, and real operations at the hours they actually happen: pre-dawn, golden hour, late evening and overnight.

The goal was simple:
Make the brand feel authentic, hardworking, and deeply connected to the communities it serves.

The Approach

To honour the campaign’s “All Hours. All In.” message, the production mirrored the real working hours of the people being filmed.

Filming Rhythm

  • Early-morning refuelling operations

  • Late-evening work in rural and industrial zones

  • Overnight timelapses

  • Fast-moving operational sites

  • Dawn and dusk transitions to match the 24/7 nature of the brand

Regional Coverage

Christchurch:
Service station operations, night lighting sequences, staff stories.

Invercargill:
Rural refuelling, farming environments, long-form timelapses and machinery work.

Auckland Region:
Distribution hubs, fleet movement, and challenging aerial work above and around the harbour and motorway systems.

Aerial Work

Flying a drone close to the Auckland Harbour Bridge required a strict approach:

  • Full compliance with Part 101 rules

  • Careful planning

  • Spotter assistance

  • Controlled take-offs/landings

  • Respecting airspace and traffic zones

The result: high-impact aerial shots that added scale, drama and a national feel to the final TVC.

Editing

I handled the entire post-production pipeline:

  • Master TVC edit

  • Colour grading

  • Sound design

  • Titles / graphics

  • 4 × 15-second cut-downs for social

  • Clean archive of all deliverables

  • A large B-roll library for future Allied campaigns

The Outcome

The final campaign delivered a bold, cinematic brand story that positions Allied Petroleum as the unseen engine behind much of New Zealand’s daily movement.

The footage has been used across:

  • TV broadcast

  • Digital rollout

  • Social platforms

  • Regional brand activations

  • Internal communications

By capturing dawn, dusk, rural, urban, industrial and aerial imagery across the three regions, the campaign gives Allied a powerful, unified visual identity that feels real, honest and New Zealand-born.

Delivered Assets

  • 60-second flagship TVC

  • 4 × 15-second social cut-downs

  • Aerial footage (Auckland + rural regions)

  • Dawn/dusk timelapses

  • On-site operational B-roll library
